I have used Calpol when my little boy was teething and it did help take the edge off but it didn't last long, I also used it after his vaccinations but he still felt hot.

This may not be the cheapest but it's very easy to use with the syringe provided that fits into the top of the bottle for easy measuring of dose and administering to a smaller baby who wouldn't use a spoon.

The syringe for the medicine seems useful (particularly for younger babies) however it is very difficult to control how fast it comes out and can lead to some spillage
