We have the maxi-cosi cabriolet infant carrier car seat. We love how snug and cosy this seat is for a new born. The various inserts that can be removed as your baby grows are so helpful, to cater for every stage of growth. We found this was a popular car seat to be able to get adapters or to just fit on a variety of prams which was very useful to have this flexibility for choosing the right pram.

Good price and good fit but there are much better brands which have better safety ratings.

Great first car seat, relatively cheap compared to other brands and gives you an idea of what's important to you before going out and buying a more long term one. Washes up well after accidents ( my daughter is car sick) and fairly easy to get covers on and off. Which they would have a one handed button to adjust handle as trying to put them down while using both hands to push down buttons is a handful.

Quite expensive and our children didn't find the seats comfortable. Our son used to scream the whole time he was in the seat. In the end we bought a new, comfier seat made by a different company.

It was very easy to use the first car seat cabrio fix with the isofix base, that was very handy.

I felt as though the car seat was a small bit pricey for what it was.. the fabric and patterns are nice but i feel i went with this because its a well known brand and i was told only to get a maxi cosi

Pearl, good for newborn as can use with the ISO-fix base, so pretty easy to get in and out of the car whilst baby is asleep. Another plus is that you can still just use the seatbelt to fix it in the car - so easy if you have to move between cars. It is also a travel system - so can attach to a compatible buggy base (usually using adapters) although I never used it like that because I preferred my baby to lie flat when possible. Bought with the intention of using it up to 12 months but found that by 10 months it was getting quite snug, so we moved to the next size up car seat then. I would say it was quite expensive when purchasing the seat and isofix base for only 10 months of use.

The first maxi-cosi baby seat for newborns is brilliant-it has a pillow insert for your litte one which you can take out as they grow. Appears comfortable, easy to get in and out of car and attach to pram/buggy. The next one up I don't find as user friendly but that may be as the seat is rear facing till 15 months for safety now and I find it hard getting my 13 month old in and out- this may be the case with many of the seats and it may get easier once it's forward facing. I do find it quite expensive but it is a top range so you hope to be paying for quality.

I've used the 2way pearl and pebble plus. Pebble plus was fine but I find the straps on the 2way pearl do loosen slightly when rear facing as my son could kick the back of the seat and this seemed to loosen it? Doesn't happen as much now he's forward facing. Shame it doesn't swivel as it can be awkward getting him in and out. Only bought the 2way pearl as we'd already invested in the 2way isofix Base for the pebble plus and didnt want the additional expenditure again.
