We have the maxi-cosi cabriolet infant carrier car seat. We love how snug and cosy this seat is for a new born. The various inserts that can be removed as your baby grows are so helpful, to cater for every stage of growth. We found this was a popular car seat to be able to get adapters or to just fit on a variety of prams which was very useful to have this flexibility for choosing the right pram.

Good price and good fit but there are much better brands which have better safety ratings.

So easy to use. Great quality. Clipped on & off pram easily which was invaluable to me. Used this function right up until he was 1.

We had the maxi cosi pebble when dd1 was born. It was excellent with the family fix base in one car and using the seatbelt in the other. We now have the pearl to fit on the base and the Axis for the other car. The Axis is fantastic, so easy to get dd1 out of as it rotates. So far we have only had a sickly baby in the pearl but the cover comes off and is washable. The seat itself is hard to clean, hosed it through and fabreezed it, took a week to lose the smell but I'm sure they'll all have that issue. I highly recommend the maxi cosi seats.

Both car seats do the job - and if you get the isofix two-way base for the first car seat, you can use it for the second car seat, both rear and forward facing if you have a preference. From research though, there were manufacturers with a higher safety rating when we were looking for the second stage car seat.
