We bought this as a second car seat for stage 1+. It's easy to install and seems comfortable we were delighted with the value for money.

We have used the Britax from stage 2 and our son is now 3 and still using it and it is just as good as when we bought it. It is sturdy, good quality and has cup holders which pull out from each side (although many child cups are too large in diameter to fit). It has a wedge shaped piece underneath enabling the angle of the seat to be changed from upright to leaning back slightly, but this has to be done before installing the car seat into the car as it flips one way or the other. We leave ours in the slightly leaning back position as its only minimal but means if our son falls asleep his head wont be tipped down onto his chest, but will just rest on one of the side supports on the head restraint. This part is also adjustable and can be easily moved upwards as your child grows by pressing a button and sliding it up a notch. The padding on this seat is ok, about the same as any other in the shops. The clips fasten at the front, the two side clips notch together before pressing into the bottom clip which works well and the button to release is nice and firm (takes some force with my thumb) which means at three my son can not undo it. The only down side to this seat that I have found, is the 'button' to loosen the straps. This is actually hidden under the fabric, at the base of the bottom clip, on the seat part but I always struggle to locate it as the exact location of it isn't marked. I usually end up putting my finger under the fabric from the hole where the clip belt comes out and ferreting about for a bit to find it. Once I undo the clips my son can climb in and out of the seat unaided now and seems to be comfy in it. I would have another if needed.

We have 2 Evolva 1-2-3 seats at the moment, they seem to be comfortable and sturdy. I had some concerns about whether I was pulling the straps tight enough as there's no indicator and the instructions are a bit vague, but otherwise I like them.

Had a hand me down Romer - quite neat and fits in my little car, but it is fairly basic and doesn't always sit as well in every car, seems to depend on the angle of the seat. Does recline but I have never needed this.
