I bought this when my boy was around 10 month old and was teething and in pain. I cannot leave a good comment about it. Unfortunately if turned out my boy was allergic to some of the ingredients (never was allergic to any food, milk or other medicine or teething gel). I did the first application in the afternoon, in the evening I noticed an ulcer on the inside of his lip, but didn't put the two and two together, so made another application. He woke up screaming in the middle of the night, he looked hungry but didn't want to take bottle into his mouth, thinking he was really in pain from teething I applied the gel for the third time. I was horrified when we all got up in the morning and I saw my little boys entire tongue deep down covered in ulcers. I rushed to the GP, he wasn't impressed with my choice of teething relieve, but the worst thing was that there was nothing he could prescribe him to treat it. It was agonising for my boy, he couldn't drink any milk for around 3 days. I cannot describe how angry I felt at the situation and myself for causing him so much pain. And yes - I read the leaflet!!! I just didn't anticipate that something which is supposed to treat ulcers and relieve teething pain can actually cause ulcers. I would say, please be cautious, test small amount, wait few hours, thoroughly check your baby's mouth before applying next dose.

This is an amazing product which numbs the gums and helps soothe teething pain. I found this to be the best item on the market, but was disappointed that it was not clearly on view in the chemists and you had to ask for it from behind the counter, which meant I did not know about it until someone recommended it. Being as it was a liquid it was easy to apply as did not slide off the gums like gel can.

Brilliant. Had 2 days of screaming and unhappiness gave my daughter this and she was back to her normal self for a good few hours

Very effective. Medicine recommends just one finger of liquid, we have usually used 2. It numbs the painful area and our baby has usually gone to sleep fairly quickly afterwards - though sometimes we need Calpol / Calpofren as well if teething really painful. Baby likes taste strangely!

I swear by this formula to help teething pains! My daughter started teething at around three months I tried other products but none were as good as anbesol liquid. I usually rubbed it on to her gums just before a feed and it really helped a lot and it worked straight away ! I would definitely recommend it, ive even tried it on myself and it really does work fabulously!!

Quite effective at numbing the gums, as it is a liquid they can't lick it off like a gel so after massaging into the gum its done.
